Dear reader
The journal for association management (VM) which has been published three times per year since 1976 offers current articles focussing on both science and practice. The concept of our journal is based on three pillars:
- Emphasis on NPO management: The topical emphasis of VM lies on the management of NPOs. Hence, articles on new management instruments and techniques as well as examples of use from practitioners are published.
- A part of the Third Sector: Our journal is committed to the Third Sector. Academic articles report relevant developments and research insights from the NPO sector.

Timeliness and practical relevance: Current develpoments in the Swiss, German or Austrian NPO sectors are commented on and discussed by qualified authors in VM. In the process, practical relevance is of prime importance.
